We were introduced to Studio Thinking Hands in the beginning of final semester. Studio Thinking Hands focuses on the crucial relationship between mind and body in the creative field. It is a course of study designed to counterbalance the virtual aspects of modern life, far away from screens, 3D models, or copy cut Instagram accounts. The Studio teaches students how to use creating and crafts as a part of the design process to develop and grow an inquisitive and intellectual mind. By applying their concept into our studies, we were told to respects the physical experience of making as a source of unique inspiration.
Thus, I did a few experiments on leaves and flower petals. First, I tried to grind them and found out that different parts of leaves produce different colours after mixing with water, and some leaves produce different colours from their appearance.

Next, I also explored the tea bags. I tried to dye it with the natural dye that I ground for the last experiment, I found out that when tea bags are wet, they are a bit translucent, but when dry, they become not transparent again. While dyeing the tea bags, I got the idea of cutting the tea bags into squares or other shapes that can form into pixel art.

I also experiment on different method to hold used tea leaves, I tried 5 ways and found out that compressed tea leaves hold surprisingly firm together, so I took the tea brick idea into the design project as well.
