The biggest threat to live below water isn't overfishing, pollution or climate change, it's apathy. Apathy means human lack of feeling, emotion, interest or concern about something. A recent survey of 3500 leaders in the global south revealed that SDG 14 (Life Below Water) was most universally considered the least important among the other 16 goals.
The silent bubble is an experience center for people to have emotional connections with the marine life. Approaching with the four basic senses of living creature such as touch, see, hear and smell. Visitors have the opportunity to experience the life of a fish in this design. A personal acoustic device that functioned as a voice mask will be given to wear throughout the entire experience process. This is to prevent visitors from communicating with each other. Even if they try to speak under the mask, it will only create muffled voice. The aim is to let human experience not being able to share thoughts through words as the marine life.
My design concept is called the silent bubble because as we know, fish can't talk. They can't complain if anything bad happens to them. They can only produce air bubbles underwater, while the air trap inside the bubble represents their unspeakable voice.
